The first day of the last month of 2008 has arrived, and I have decided to give blogging a whirl.   This is the first day of Buck here in Pennsylvania.  I’m the wife of a hunter, so I’m sitting here waiting to hear whether or not he snagged his deer for the year.  It’s also Cyber Monday and in my opinion the start of the holiday shopping season.  Cyber Monday is the Black Friday shopping day online.  If you were brave enough to tackle Black Friday in the stores at 4 am (which I was not), that was probably your official start of the holiday shopping season.  I have found myself shopping a lot online.  I think it is just easier since I have an infant at home and I find myself trying to make my life easier.  I am new to the shopping online scene, but am enjoying it a great deal.  I have found that you can save a lot of time and money by shopping right in your living room.  You can search all of the store adds, get money savings coupon codes and sometimes even find special deals that will save you on shipping and handling.  And the best thing about it is that I don’t have to fight the crowds or the traffic.

So, today is my official start of the holiday season and I am making my lists for the people that I have to buy for.  I’m thinking about what I want to decorate my house with on the outside.  The inside, I won’t change since I finally got it to where I want it to be.  Do I want to bake this year or not?  I love to have the baked goods here but I’m not a fan of baking them.  It is also my family’s year to start making our own traditions now that we have a new baby.  I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time, now the time is here and I can’t wait to give it a try.  I want the holidays to always be her favorite time of the year with memories that she remembers as a child. I have a few traditions that are happy memories for me that I think she will adopt.  Between her daddy and myself, we can give her memories to take with her when she has her own family.
